SerenWise

There was a time

My serenity was smashed

Like a shattered mirror, my bad luck -

A thousand hopes were dashed.

The fabric of my universe caved in

And my soul was laid bare

Against the firmament of my sin

As a million glittering stars...

But then, there you were;

And we lay together, you and I

And picked out the constellations

Within my sky;

I found that my broken pieces

Fitted in quite neatly,

Like the scraps of jigsaws

They slotted in completely -

     Beside yours...
