Tune: St Timothy
('O Holy Ghost, thy people bless')
*******
While days of grace are here, come see
And do remember me
Said our Lord, when [He] instituted
Supper with wine and bread
Amidst the food and drink arrayed
These simple gifts displayed
Of bread and wine for Communion
Invite to every one
For they be symbols of Christ sure
His body, blood, e'ermore
Given that forgiven we may
Be, turn to Him today
This spiritual meal will sustain
Us here throughout life plain
Help us Lord to look unto you
Hunger and thirst anew
All on same ground, sinners do meet
And worship at Christ's feet
He will us hear, forgive, restore
His mercy we implore
So grace He will grant us today
To go on in His way
His people, we His friends e'en be
Redeemed by His love free

Thanks Uncle Steve for a Lovely Hymn & Poem ! The best way for us to be blest by the Holy Spirit Is to be refilled with the Spirit every day and for the Fruits of the Spirit (Love - Joy - Peace etc) to be evident in each of our lives 24/7 ~ AMEN ! Your Poem hilights the importance of the Communion Service. Wherever We are in the World we always try to attend Communion Service irrespective of the Denomination or Language ! The best was in Old Ephesus with a Group of French Catholics in the Ruins of the Church of Saint Mary ! Deja Vu or what !
Blessings to You & Holy Hound

Good one Orchi
Thanks Gold. Well, I've experienced various styles of worship. One place seemed to tack on Communion monthly, then back to endless 'Choruses' (arggh!). Maybe you can find a renewed focus if going to a Service where you know it's going to be Holy Communion. I suppose it's sort of helped me to return to being more Anglican again! Though it's our faith that matters, not the denomination.
My Faith in My Spirit will always be strong.
We're still 'murdering the Psalms' sometimes. Horrid expression. I mean - using chants or tunes that no-one except the choir knows, and they're laughing, cos they're not telling us what the tunes are. We tried a sung psalm recently, but to an obscure tune. It fell flat - obviously. Doh!
Every Choir has their secrets to keep, I know I am in three choirs. So many secrets so little time.
They could at least play the tune through first, before we sing any words. But if no-one suggests that, it probably won't be done. I'm no help - I don't suggest it either.
