I n MICHIGAN you*re surrounded ~ Trees ~ Lakes
N o other American State quite like it !

L APLAND ! Skiing ~ Skating ~ Sledging ~ A WONDERLAND !

The MAP shows MICHIGAN is in two parts ! The MITTEN and the
Upper Peninsular which is an extension of WISCONSIN ! It is the
mot Northerly of the Contiguous States ~ hence a very spectacular
Fall & Winter. Her land area is 56,804 sq miles and the population
over 10 million which is about 175 people per sq mile which gives
every one plenty of Space ! The population is 80% White 14% Black
3.4% Hispanic 2% Asian & 0.6% Ameraindian. The median age is 35.
The State Bird ~ ROBIN State Flower ~ APPLE BLOSSOM State Tree
White Pine ! These choices reflect its Northern Situation (see map).
Her Birth Rate per 1000 population p.a. is 13 which is average for
the USA. Her population increased by 56% between 1950 & 2000 !
MICHIGAN has the LONGEST Freshwater Shoreline in the World and
its name means LARGE LAKE ! Her nickname is *The Great Lakes
State* or *Wolverine State* There are more Recreational Boats in
MICHIGAN than anywhere else in AMERICA ! Angela and I have
only visited once in JULY 2016 and She was very impressed with
the opportunities for Safe Lake Sailing ! There are TEN Major Cities
in MICHIGAN and we might write a Poem on them another DAY !

Autumn is my favourite time of the year and I am sure it is marvellous in Michigan.
ANGELA here - Thanks UNCLE ANDY. We are getting better Autumn Leaf Colour in the UK but America has five time the forest Density so the USA Colours are much more extensive & spectacular. Im on the *PURE MICHIGAN * website and I get some lovely pictures at this time of the Year. For ANGELA & I it iis one of the most interesting US States we have visited but the Winter is too severe for some. WE visit a Snowbird Village near Tampa FA in January where some Friends of Brians Parents now live all Year Round ! Many of the retired MICHINGANERS come in Novemeber and stay til after EASTER !

HOLA CHRISTINA - Gracias por Tu comentario de nostra presentacion de MICHIGAN ! As an American you must be more aware than we are just how different and unique each of the US States is ! In Climate - Accent - Attitude - Topography - Cuisine & Attitude etc. The two Youngest ones Hawaii & Alaska are on different Planets. Have you visited them ? We were staying in Detroit so we only saw the Shoreline Cities on the Westside of the Mitten which face onto Lakes Erie & Huron. In JULY they are indeed very Beautiful. As WE said in our Presentation MICHIGAN is unique in having the longest Freshwater Coastline in the World which must affect its micoclimate and make it a Paradise State for Sailors like Angela ! Each New State we visit claims to be *The most Booootiful in the Union !* We get regular updates on Pure Michigan and the pictures sure show it is not only Beautiful in the Fall but in every season. My reading tells me that despite its severity in Winter the Michinganers dont stay indoors but wrap up well - and get out & enjoy it ! If We post on Michigan Cities I will let you know - OK !
