I am your equal

MissUnderstood

What I am is not above you or below you,

I am your equal,

I respect you, regard you and will protect you,

But I can neglect you, reject you and provoke you,

I am black and I am blue,

Correct I am hurting just like you.

My iris sees your iris,

But yet I am misunderstood,

Because I do not get down and hang with your hood,

I cannot relate,

I choose not to reciprocate,

Because I am me.

No I am not above you or beneath you,

I am your equal.

If you respect me, I vow to regard and protect you,

But if you neglect me, I will reject and provoke you.

I am of you, not because of you.
