God's Presence - Peace Series (3)

Tune: Monks Gate

('He who would valiant be')

Psalm 46 parts

********

God, our refuge and power

Are every hour

You our strength, a very

Present help, we see

Therefore we will not fear

Though earthly troubles near

Though earth e'en if removed

Steadfast you have proved

Though mountains be carried

Into sea, and hid

Drowned in the depths, and so

Waters roar, we know

If they be troubled, and

Mountains shake, cannot stand

Yet in this fear we not

For God is our lot

There is a river, see

The streams shall there be

Peaceful, and shall make glad

God's city, not sad

'Tis His high dwelling place

We there His presence race

He is there in the midst

And this we do wist* (*know)

His city be not moved

His help has ensued

Unto us, it early

Be His help, we see

Be still, and know that I

Am God, this His reply

He will be exalted

Among us, He said

Exalted among heathen

That all shall know then

He is God, He alone

Worship is our tone

For the LORD of hosts, He

Is with us, He e'er be

Our refuge now, always

Unto endless day

One of my favourite texts is used in this verse Orchi - - the words " be still and know that I am God" have always meant much to me.... we all need to do just that at times.

Thanks Gold. There will be no more sea though! But I read that's a symbol of no more separation. How's 1066 prep going?
