Tune: Glenfinlais
('Daises are our silver')
Psalm 12 v.6-8
**********
The words of the LORd, pure
They be e'er fro sure
As silver is tried in
The furnace within
Seven times they purified
None more pure beside
Whole an perfect, spotless
Are they, we confess
Your word stands, LORD, you keep
Safe from harm your sheep
Save them from enemies
Each your guidance sees
Wicked show when evil
Rears its head, we tell
But when righteousness shows
Love and peace here grows

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.5.6.5. metre. Yes, a childhood hymn, recalled from my (and your?) Primary School days. So about 5 million years ago - same age as you?!

That author of the hymn, Jan Struther, also wrote 'When a knight won his spurs', another childhood hymn. I was around when the knight slew those dragons, of course - were you?!
I'm like you Orchi, an old dragon slayer. Still remember the good old days in the castle with lead piping, lead cups and lead forks. Guess that's why I am a little funny now.
Thanks Fred. You 5 million years old too?! lol.
Good write Orchi, that last stanza is so true.
Thanks Gold.
