What is your definition of poetry?

I was asked this at work,
*the brief awkward silence*
nerved and dumb founded,
I came up with nothing,
" the flowing of emotions into uh?-sspression "
I was struck hard,
couldn't voice a response,
I said " you cant really define it "
he ain't buy it,
obliterated,
I felt like a fake,
forsaked the very essence of which I seemingly try to illustrate,
now I feel heartached,
the pain rushed my eyes,
the grandeur of facade,
couldn't verbalize what I so very yearn into realization.

Poetry; the art spoken or written expressing volumes of intensity, whether be it mellow or heavy, subjective meaning.

A thought an idea
To transport the mind
Captured before it’s forgotten
This for me is poetry
In beautiful language defined

You see, That Willow, it never wanes -
Its branches, they do not wilt.
Those roots give life foundation,
And upon them, "We" are built.

A feeling which is out of place
Which with words I try to chase
An aching for painting, a past time, a need
Designing a rainbow, then watching it bleed
