The ISLE of Wight

FineB

A diamond shaped piece of heaven,

At Osborne House, Queen Victoria found her idyllic retreat,

Music legends past and present have graced the Isle of Wight Festival,

Walkers walk the annual Isle of Wight challenge, a test of endurance especially on your feet.

Behold the iconic beauty of the Needles,

Take an adventure down Blackgang and Shanklin Chine,

The Isle of Wight, a beautiful picturebook of experiences.

An island, beautiful, heavenly and divine.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I have just returned from a wonderful holiday on the beautiful Portuguese island of Madeira. If you are not familiar with the island it is where the international football star Christiano Ronaldo comes from. During my holiday in Madeira I was inspired to write this poem on another beautiful island this time English- The ISLE of Wight. Hopefully I'll get round to writing a poem on Madeira. I recommend a visit to both The Isle of Wight and Madeira both beautiful.

BRIAN HERE ~ Thanks for sharing FRIEND ! ISLE of WIGHT been with my Parents and also took Angela ~ She loved it ! never far from the SEA and (because its an island) less traffic than UK mainland ! Good climate all year round and much to do ! All the places you mention in your elegant Poem bring back memories. They all speak good English and the cuisine is mainly English as well ~ especially in the Boarding Houses & Hotels ~ Full English every morning !

    Blessings & Peace & Joy
    Yours BRIAN & ANGELA

Wow you have captured the exotic Isle poetically and it sounds quite a place to visit and see some medieval architecture perhaps. I admire many a medieval architecture by the way. Kudos.
