Pull Back Your Face...

kevin browne

Pull back your face, take off the mask
Reveal the true you, take on the task
Winning for choice, beggars and losers
Wind up windows, chances for choosers.

Shake off your hands, four minutes at most
Raging a temper and listen to you boast
Filled out the forms, filled out what to do
Shaking and shivering hearts all over you.

Watching and waiting five minutes at most
Writing and winning if jogging down notes
Kick-off your heart into somewhere in here
Crying over some river, crying over a tear.

Walking and running into darkness unseen
Wondering and wavering over what's been
Catching and holding the cradle to its love
Sunny skies and the Sunshine high above.

Changes and trouble for an hour at most
Drowning and driving when you should boat
Together and close where love breaks up
Crying and loving where life ends up tough.

Sharing and caring for who, 10 minutes at most
Hearts and a hand to hold, your love can boast
Throttle and thrive to win, to win back who is
Hugging and playing with a pure loving kiss.

Giving away what you don't have to do
After and before with love all over you
Places and faces are in the beauty to find
A Moonlight and the shadow of its behind.

Terrible and good are a horrible thought
Reading and feeling that love is caught
With or without whatever what you got
When and wherever with a left out what.

Deep inside, deep when you're dreaming
Everyone says everyone has a meaning
Those shadows of light, the hope it brings
Amongst pheasants, Lords and the Kings.

Pull back your face and open your heart
Where life and love and hope won't depart
Follow the fellow dreamers you cared for
For your footsteps, it hits to the heart's core.

Broken in silence with 11 minutes at most
Tearing in sadness and missed the last boat
Ripping apart life, ripping half a world away
Listening to nothing, hearing what you say.

Screaming and shouting, shouting at what
Remembering and forgetting is what's lost
Too tender to touch and a whimper cries
Loving to learn to live before everyone dies.
