Did it end
The unrest?
Bone woman
Beneath
Did you ascend
At your best?
Faraway
Released
Buried Deep
Far from home
Alone
Alone
Decomposed
Dirt and bone
Did it defeat
Your endlessness?
Lost soul
Out of reach
Did they keep
Your dying breath?
Taken, shaken
Released
Serenaded by birdsong
In a grave far from home
A foreigner
A disconnect
Back to dust
Are you home?

I came here today..
this very important day,
only to read these words...
and to hear a voice,
now from the grave
and the universe slide from my side...
Well thank you Neville. Her words haunt me so...
Brilliant poetry and a wonderful tribute - -very moving to read and digest Sylvia.
Thanks Fay, I was struck by the idea of a woman who battled with belonging in many ways ended up buried in a place that was not her home. It is a very beautiful place though. And where is home anyway?
I'm not familiar with her poems. Am I poetically un-cultured?! I have at least heard of her.
Well everyone has different tastes, there are lots of popular poets I have not read
🌈
May her voice from the grave resound within us all.
