Tune: Melcombe
('New every morning is the love')
*********
Forgive me, Lord, I lose your peace
When frustrations and fears increase
Help me to set, focus on you
The source of eternal peace true
Knowing you in life, your purpose
You do show and reveal to us
Whether it be what we would choose
Or what it be, from your best views
Things we would do, but now may not
Be able to do, that our lot
Or things new, different paths to take
To serve you well for your name's sake
Help us your time to wait, so then
It shall be the right time, for when
You so appoint, as in your plan
For every child, woman, and man
Show us way through where dark it seems
Give light from your radiant beams
Thus settled, not cause others stress
For your intent is us to bless
And peace retained, your comfort gained
Where we may have ourselves stressed, pained
But onwards with your grace now still
To seek to know, do your good will

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8. metre. We may all throw a 'wobbler' at times (verse 1), and our prayer may end up: 'O God DO something; get your finger out!' (or similar words). I thought of other angles too. Not to only feel comfy when things go how WE would like them to (verse 2). Things we used to be able to do, but maybe cannot do now, due to age, or whatever (verse 3). Not to be too slow, nor too quick (verse 4). Needing light always (verse 5). Retaining or regaining peace where we may have lost it (verse 6)
