Saints Shining

orchidee

Tune: Sine Nomine

('For all the saints')

For All Saints Day - Nov. 1st.

*******

Shine bright you saints, by Christ you sanctified

Redeemed by Him, for you he suffered, died

And rose again, to Him be full allied

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Through trials and troubles, serving for His sake

All believers unto Him He does take

A people for His glory He does make

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Assist us by your grace, Spirit impart

Your good gifts to us, fill us every part

To follow you, engaging all our heart

Alleluia, Alleluia!

For your plan to change us to your image

Empower, grant us faith, love, and courage

Blessed be we with a goodly heritage

Alleluia, Alleluia!

By grace we members of our Captain's band

All brought about by His almighty hand

We saved and redeemed out of every land

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Victorious Light, dawn ever on our sight

And chase away all gloominess and night

Your saints, your servants, shining always bright

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Inspire us with your hope, to carry on

And by faithful saints, before us have gone

'Til all shall meet up, all one in your Son

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Gone sorrow, pain, all death and mourning o'er

When all gathered on the eternal shore

No evil, we with you for evermore

Alleluia, Alleluia!

I sang these words just to check it fitted and it does, good one Orchi.

Thanks Gold. Phew, it fits. Can't have syllables sneaking in here and there. Well, it would be called an 'irregular' metre then.

      BRAVO Orchi
May your eternal shore be a sandy beech

Thanks Andrew. As one said to me; 'See you there, if not before!'
Erm, is this theologically correct though? It's said there's no sea there. Aww but why not? Well, it symbolises no separation from one another. There might be rivers, lakes, etc.

Thanks Ron. I can't do the musical side of it though - can't write music.
