Tune: Quam Dilecta
('We love the place, O Lord')
Jude 1 v.20-21
*******
You here, the belovéd
This earthly path you tread
Build you yourselves upon
Faith in God's one true Son
It a faith most holy
With no defilement see
And pray in the Holy
Spirit, empowered be
Keep yourselves in the love
Of God, He reigns above
And by His Spirit dwells
In our hearts, our tongue tells
Looking for the mercy
Of our Lord, for he be
Our Lord Jesus Christ who
Gives eternal life new

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6. metre. Sometimes I miss a page in my poems notebook by mistake, then fill it with a 'shortie'. Often needing to be focused, as not a lot of space spare, and some songs having short metres (as here, only 6 per line).

It is 'habituations', though it could be 'habitations' also, I suppose, for the title.
Habitual habits run a dangerous course sometimes. Especially when God is mentioned. A lovely tribute though I must say.
Thanks Kevin. Yes dangerous sometimes -if caught up in rituals, religious observances, etc, all Pharisee-like.
Indeed, orchi, but with confusion settling in quite deeply about the way in which our beliefs are believed in any corner of any type of religion. Life is chaos and chaos is life...!!! Treat life like life treats you and you may find a more decent path to walk on...!!
...and then he asked
"If eternal life be not the prize... would you believe"?
and then he asked
"If eternal damnation be not the threat... would you be free"?
Questions questions questions...
Great write Orchi blessings of the day have a great weeknd
Thanks Andrew. Yep, I of course am only in it for the money. When the collection/offering comes round, I help myself, and says 'Thanks very much; very generous of you!' Do I? I will get chucked out of church. lol.
Yeah!
We know you blow it all on candles
Oh no we pay for them as well
Where does the collection go???
ORCHI???
Thanks Andrew. A lot of the collection I reckon (in Anglican churches anyway) goes to the Parish Share. That includes paying clergy I think. You'll know it - usually a figure in the thousands per year!
Orchi,
This morning I visited a 99 year old! I read your posting to her! She was overjoyed! Thank you for sharing and making her smile! She’s a believer and treasures her beliefs!

Hello Orchidee,
God's great love where we would be without it! Good write!

Thanks Fine.
My Faith has gone but your writing is still good.
Thanks Gold. You may be a smoking flax not snuffed out, or a broken reed not snapped off? See part of my poem today if you wish. I chose it before I read your poem today.
