THE BLEAK TREE ๐Ÿงก BRIAN ๐Ÿ’™ A REFLECTION

ANGELA & BRIAN

THE BLEAK TREE & ME ~ A SYMBIOSIS ?

THE BLEAK TREE ~ Winter buffeted

Looked so forlorn and naked in the SNOW

My heart went out to Her ~ thoughts of Autumn

Finery ~ did She really know ?

Her trunk was gnarled ~ but I was bold !

So I gave Her a HUG ~ and  gently said .......

Soon it will be Spring !  Birds will nest & sing !

Remember ?  When the SNOW has fled !

She shook Her branches ~ shedding SNOW

Did she really know ?  Did She remember ?

Her GLORY in the Spring and in the Summer

Autumn GLORY ~ into late September !

I feel the changes ~ in My Life

Spring now into ~ the bright bright Summer changes

Promise of Fruitful Autumn ~ with my WIFE !

Then OLD AGE ~ Wintertime arranges !

We know Life changes ~ Year by Year

And face challenges ~ each decade will hold

What of MY TREE ~ can She act just like Me ?

And face each Season ~ Strong & very Bold !

Thanks for reading ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

This Poem is dedicated to DIAMOND who is helping ME to be

a BETTER POET !  I appreciate that too many of My Poems are

too factual ~ more like BLOGS !  DIAMOND has rightly pointed

out that POETRY needs Originality ~ Creativity & Imagination !

My MUSE was stirred by this PICTURE of *A Bleak Tree Winter

Battered* and the thought came to Me ~ When She was Winter

buffeted did She remember that SPRING would follow Winter

with its bright green leaves and blossom and BIRDS etc etc ?

Then I compared it with the Seasons in my LIFE  Spring (0 to 20)

Summer (21 to 40) Autumn (Raising a Family 41 to 60) Winter

(Old Age 61 to 80+). We look around and know (more or less !)

what each double-decade will bring ~ but does My Tree remember

each Season ?  Angela liked this and appreciates the constructive

comments DIAMOND has made on my BLOGGY POEMS !  BRIAN.

I take this poem into me
      so the message and story would nurture me;
So I see what the writer sees
through the eyes of such vision
so I can experience the same...and grow further into something that would come to be.

I often think of trees as the lungs of this fragile rock we cling on to... cleaning the air so we can stay here we must take care of them

Great write B wonderful dedication my love is my inspiration my poetry my therapy too

            BRAVO!

            • ANGELA & BRIAN

THANKS ANDREW ~ For your very encouraging reply ! It is important for MPS Friends to remind us ~ from time to time ~ if our *POETRY* is reading like a shopping list ! Yes TREES do inhale CO2 (for photosynthesis) and exhale O2 ! Animals do the opposite so there is a symbiosis which maintained the atmospheric CO2 @ 250 ppm and the ambient tenperature @ 15C. Since the Industrial Revolution the CO2 has almost doubled resulting in Global Warming. Despite promises the CO2 and the ambient temperature are STILL RISING ! Deforestation & Urbanisation does not help either !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours

Problem with the autumn of life is that the Spring will have other generation of characters, and we will be watching wondering and commenting. Nice piece.

              • ANGELA & BRIAN

ANGELA HERE ~ Thanks CHRIS ~ We have friends of all Adult ages (18 to 81 !) I am 31 & Brian 36 neither of us have ever been a Parent (YET !) Our Friends tell us that whatever Season of Life they are in ~ there are compensatons and the positive factors outweigh the negative ! This is good news for when we get married and (God Willing) start our Family ! The problem is in the WINTER SEASON (61 to 80) a high % face Death ~ Disability ~ Bailing Children Out & Divorce etc. Talking to people in the late Autumn Zone (50 - 60) they are scared that Old Age (70+) Retirement - Death of a Partner - Disability etc will lower their QUALITY of LIFE ! We look forward to our 35 to 55 Period being our happiest ~ OK What is inevitable is that next BIRTHDAY I will be 32 and BRIAN 37 and we will be MARRIED !

                Blessings & Peace & Joy
                Yours A & B ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

Nice piece. May the next seasons of your life be filled with joy! Oh my goodness, our trees are naked and snow is already upon us. I can't believe it!!!!!!

              • ANGELA & BRIAN

HOLA CHRISTINA ~ Como estes ? Long time no hear ~ pleased you enjoyed the presentation ! I guess where you inhabit Naked Trees covered in SNOW are a November to March phenomena ! When the KIDS flee the nest you can get an apartment in FLORIDA for $50k (retirement village !) and NEVER any SNOW ! MPS is not the same without your POSTS & COMMENTS are you back ?

A poet's poem for sure Brian and one that stirs and inspires - I love the parallel between tree and humanity - a delightful read.
