Unwilling subjects

Poetic Dan

I was born on to an island where a monarchy exists

Never even given the choice to see if it fits

They put a flag in my hand told me stories so grand

With a programed belief they've been the savours of lands

They say they have a past that no longer holds true

Although hands of blood with always stay stained

Even when the ungovernable are governed by others hands

You don't represent me and its never in my name

The lessons from history just keep going on & on

When I look to the future I see nothing is ever the same as it was

I've never had traditions and don't plan to start

The only moment is the here & now, changing from the past

Letting go of what was earned by unnatural order

No privilege should be given over another soul

Until the others stop holding a few above the rest

More will continue to become unwilling subjects

This is not treason or a plot to blow anything up

I am a statement that choose to bend a knee to no one

As I'd never ask this from another unwilling human

This rant will never be over unless I see them in books or a museum.

I follow the logic and I understand it is a disturbing concept. Being born in a republic I wouldn't know, but I wish you had explored more the emotion this creates on you. I think you could have made it a powerful piece, but I guess the subject is strong on its own.

Thank you so much and you are probably right, as I know family and friends that will be offended but I'll be honest I am just as much when they put them above others in this world. Its honestly can feel like they are under a spell...

      Always appreciated
      Keep up the write

Freedom is a hoax for the likes of us

      • Poetic Dan

Maybe my friend, as she "owns" all the land I stand on! But never my voice or opinions

        Always appreciated

You have the royals, we have the movie stars! Unfortunately, there will always be some held above the rest, whether they deserve it or not.

I guess all we can do is live what we know.

There will always be those allegedly above us but many are not better than us.

            Absolutely I stand tall.

Absolutely love the message Dan, speak your truth with the words from the brilliant mind of yours.

Thank you for the encouragement my friend, some definitely don't see it as brilliant 😉

              Always appreciated
