I want to be your captain sunshine

 

I want to be the rain in the sky

 

I want to be the wind that moves

 

I want to be the endlessly lit moon

 

I want to be the grass under your feet

 

I want to be the trees helping you breathe

 

I want to be the horizon always out of sight

 

I want to be the sleep in the corner of your eye

 

I want to be the reason you bounce ever night

 

I want to be the passion to sing with all your might

 

I want to be the food that comforts your mind

 

I want to be the imagination endlessly running wild

 

I want to be the air when your learning to float

 

I want you to remember no one ever dances alone

 

Most of all I want to thank you, for taking me to depths of love unknown

Life truly starts outside of the comfort zone

Every time, closing my eyes
Letting go, their you are
Nothingness is never gone

 

I wanted you to know so I've left this as a footnote

You can be anything you want to be, just as you have shown me I can be

  • Comment from author about the poem: I know it changes at the end but there is a part of me that wants to keep it in, I guess because my thoughts started with my children then ended with them. Although this is still something I wish for any that struggle in moments of life's tests, just keep writing it.
