We hear it all the time,
“We must have peace in our world”.
This is so very true.
But you also hear those words,
“We must FIGHT for peace!”
But surely we should not fight,
As “Fighting for peace”
Is like ”Fucking for chastity”.

A fine write Gold. I hesitate to put lines like 'fighting' for peace' in poems. In a way it's fighting for outward peace, I feel, to keep things 'sweet'. But does it change people from within?
Then again, I have included a line in my poem today of 'maintaining liberty, both bold and free'.
GOOD MORNING UNCLE ANDY ~ We love the music by KHATCHATURIAN ~ Solemn for a Remembrance Sunday Morning ! While we agree that the Slogan *FIGHT FOR PEACE* is an oxymoron we think that WW2 (which cost 20 million lives many of then Civilians) was an exception. It really was a WAR of *GOOD* against *EVIL* Our Allies against HITLER and The Third Reich ! In 1923 im MEIN KAMPF (My Struggle) Hitler wrote *Der Juden sint ein Germ ....... * The JEWS are aGERM they infiltrate ( and poison) every strata & aspect of Society ....... ! When He became (by subterfuge) the Chancellor of Germany in 1933 he began to lay plans for the FINAL SOLUTION ~ Purging GERMANY (& Europe) of JUDAISM ! SIX MILLION were murdered in cold blood in WW2 ! Thank GOD there are now more JEWS in Europe than there were in 1933 despite the HOLOCAUST ! Visit Auschwitz and you will feel the Satanic Evil of the Third Reich. Should we have done NOTHING (as Chamberlain suggested) and let Hitler get on with it ~ OR ~ Take a CHURCHILLIAN stance and *FIGHT THEM ON THE BEACHES ~ TO THE LAST MAN & WOMAN ~ AND NEVER SURRENDER !* I think Churchill was right and in SIX YEARS the 1000 Year Reich was obliterated from the FACE of the EARTH its perpertrators DEAD or EXECUTED and Peace in Europe secured ! Would you have enlisted or would you have had the COURAGE to be a CONSCIENSIOUS OBJECTOR and serve down the COAL MINES ! Today *WE MUST REMEMBER* all those who died that we in the UK might enjoy the Freedom of living in a Free Democracy under the QUEEN (who endured WW2 in London) & PM Boris Johnson(for the next MONTH !). Sometimes there is no alternative but *TO FIGHT FOR PEACE* or release others (like the Coal Miners) to do so ~ OK

In no way is fighting the 'peaceful way'. As I said this graffiti was about in the 1960's when the Vietnam War was being fought.
The only people who want to fight are the politicians so put them in an arena and let them fight amongst themselves! So many people died at the hands of those in charge.
Peace is the way forward and fighting for it is just not the way!
