Tune: The Supreme Sacrifice
('O valiant hearts')
*********
Has one laid down their life for all mankind?
And rose again, who midst all can we find?
One who has done such noble deed, such task
Who has done all that His Father did ask?
Yes, it be Christ, the Son of God He be
Who for our salvation He did such, see
Hope of forgiveness and life eternal
His gracious promise to who on Him call
We do remember, and Communion
Share, bread and wine, your redemption work done
And too remember all who served country
To maintain liberty, both strong and free
In lives laid down, or little deaths we die
In unselfishness, ways we self-deny
So in losing our life for your sake, Lord
We then our life find, so does say your word
Grant us courage, examples do inspire
To fight sin, evil, desires never tire
Spirit empower, and your kingdom come
Your will be done, and make our hearts your home
