I see him most days.
I look in the mirror,
And he is there.
I say a phrase
And hear him,
He is there.
I look at my brother,
And he is there.
My brother speaks,
And he is there.
Every day he is with me,
The man who taught me,
Taught me to be calm,
Showed me the wonder of music.
His Spirit lives on in me
As he is up there
Looking down,
Listening to his music,
Listening to our music,
Happy Birthday Dad.

- Comment from author about the poem: My Dad would have been 94 today, his body died in 1995 a month before his 70th birthday but his Spirit lives on in me and he is always with me. "Play Your Music Louder" is what my brother and I wrote in the book of remembrance at his funeral. The music is one of his favourites and was played at his funeral. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD.

A fine tribute Gold. Yes, tell him to play it louder - to drown me out with my singing, for one thing! heehee.
Knowing my dad he would try and find something good in your singing.
Ahh, thanks Gold. Yes I know - I must stop insulting cats, saying I sound like two of them fighting!
I must say this gave me a tear this morning, thank you.
For the dad I never had to the one that I am now, this is now being played twice this morning and the rest of the "yes indeed" album (Marie, now playing) will continue. Now saved on my play list too, your spirit is amazing and I thank him and you, as I smile and cry at my little lady in front of my with this truly soulful music to keep us balanced.
Feeling emotional, thanks for helping in just being you my friend.
My music will forever be loud and may my sprouts play it louder.
Always appreciated
Much peace and respect
Happy birthday too 😉
What wonderful words Dan, may music be forever in your hearts and spirits and may you show your little one the way to calmness as mine did for me.
Take care my friend
Andy.
Made me smile thanks Andy
