Bread of life, you e'er us sustain
Salvation through you we gain
Simplest elements, bread and wine
Show your life human, divine
Your life given that we may live
And unto you praise give
That bread we eat, often daily
Your providings do we see
You give food and drink physical
And in realm spiritual
Jam to spread on bread, sweet, tasty
Appetising it sure be
Sweetness of your love here conveyed
You Christ for our sins have paid
You came at right time, not delayed
Here your graces are displayed
Guard our lives from bitter, sour
And too much salt, every hour
Knife to spread the jam on slices
Of bread, so it suffices
Our hunger, we eat, are fulfilled
Cravings, greediness is stilled
So help us,Lord, satisfaction
To find sure through Christ your Son
