No Chance

Fay Slimm.

No Chance.

As each ebbing tide tumbles seaward
to leave but remembrance
on sand's tear-washed places,
as a breaker flings sad over thought
and sighs reassemble

my desire turns to past embraces.

As life's rollers drag re-call heedlessly
back thru' unforeseen grief
to where incompletion dwells,
as on-moving time sanctions seasons
I confront the regret

that we had no chance for farewells.

This is a credit to yourself and MPS. Some words when cocktailed with wisdom and shaken (not stirred) are very special indeed.

Hope you will allow it me as a Fay've (Any chance?).

      Ex animo, Alan

Good evening FAY ~ sorry to be late with our reply ! We loved the Rhyme Pattern & Metre in this Poem very elegant ! When we are faced with the EMPTINESS in our lives occasioned by the death of a Loved One (V1.) echoes in our memories of past embraces ! V2. extends the grief occasioned by a sudden departure and this is expressed by the final doublet !

        I confront the regret
That we had no chance for farewells !

Our experience is the Death of Grandparents and the premature & sudden demise .of Friends & Relations ~ However reading the context if yt is the Death of Partner ~ the pain is magnified a thousand fold ! Thanks for sharing ~ AMEN

        Blessings & Love & Peace & Joy
        Yours ANGELA & BRIAN ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก
