Tune: Melita
('Eternal Father, strong to save')
John 15 v.12-17
************
Lord, this your commandment it be
That we love one another, see
As you have loved us, love us still
Through all our times of good and ill
Greater love has no one than this
Than lay down their life, no more is
No more is greater than to lay
Down life for friends, 'tis finest day
They can attain to, and we be
Your friends Lord, if obediently
We do whatever you command
Sent unto us by your good hand
You call us not now servants, for
Servants not know what their lord sure
Does do, but you have called us friends
For your grace each to us attends
For all things you from Father heard
you have made known to us, each word
We have not chosen you, but you
Have chosen us, ordained us too
That we should go and bring forth fruit
And that it remain, have good root
With you the vine, we the branches
Productive through you, who u bless
That whatsoever we may ask
Of the Father, small or great task
Ask in your name, Jesus, and He
The Father shall be pleased, agree
To give it us, so you command
Us love one another, [so] we stand

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8.8.8. metre, linking in a Remembrance theme. Any comments on the style, form, etc of the 'poem' aspect of this? Or musical aspects on the 'hymn' aspect of it? I know I reveres words or phrases in places, to make things rhyme. I did my 'funny' poem yesterday!

Wonderful work!
God Bless us
Thanks Camille.
Orchi, this world could use a lot more 'love each other'. I am glad you "hammered" home the point.
Thanks Fred.
Good one Orchi, as Fred has said this world needs more loving of each other.
Thanks Gold.
