Ode to the broken

sylviasearcher

Lowly I listen to the sway of your grey
All I feel is a fog disguising our way
I reach out with a hand but my skin rots away
So I fall to my knees, and to the forests I pray

Show him light
Lift him high
Reveal beauties
Caged inside

Hardly here, I hold on to a whisper of true
Trapped behind blackest fog, I smell a sky that is blue
I want the sky to reach down and paint pictures for you
And show you that what you see, I see it too

Show him light
Lift him high
Reveal beauties
Caged inside

Fading forever, but still all around
Love lights up the world with its deafening sound
I cry out, 'Can't you hear it? Won’t your heart start to pound?'
Nature washes colour, where with grey you were crowned

Show him light
Lift him high
Reveal beauties
Caged inside

What once was caged
Now soar in blue sky

Some days the fog lingers but I know it’s still there
