Lost in Fiction.

Goldfinch60

Once more I was lost!

All I did was open a book,

That was all I did,

And I became lost.

Life outside that book had gone,

I was drawn into the words,

Words that pulled me,

Pulled me into another world.

A world where love was at the fore,

A love that was never to be,

But as I read the words

The two souls got closer.

Would their love be fulfilled,

Would they be together,

Together for all their lives.

I have no idea!

I have not finished the book yet!

You read that book on the history of 1066?! I believe we helped to write it, the two of us!

    • Goldfinch60

Yes I wrote it, you enumerated it as your hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia would not allow you to write any words longer than three letters - you had so much trouble trying to write atsHnsgi.

Was (is) it a work of fiction?!

        • Goldfinch60

My viking roots say it is!

So - it's all true ya know, including my part when I mucked it all up!

Hello Sian - Read Goldfinch's and my 'History of 1066', that we wrote together. We were both there in person, so we say! Much more of this, and we'll all be nutty. lol.

How wonderful your poem is telling the story how you lost yourself in the book. I can only imagine that. I use to be an avid reader but now I am less reading. Not much time as I still have some obligations at home. I am wishing you a fine reading for the day till you finish the romantic story. Reading about love is one of my favorites. Great verse…Happy Reading dear poetry friend, Goldfich60.

Thank you Zuzana, most kind, reading has always been in my life, what I read has changed over the years but getting lost in a book is wondrous.

                Andy

Dear Poet Friend, Andy--How wonderful of you to share your love for reading. I used to read more but now I am into other things.
At present, besides writing, I am working on winter hats for homeless people in our city.
I want to make 100 hats of various sizes and make a free donation.

Wishing you happy and a blessed weekend... 🙂
Hope, that the winter is still not as harsh yet in your Country...Zuzanna
