Communion Considerations

Tune: Leibster Jesu

('Dearest Jesu, we are here')

**********

Lord, in whate'er season we

Physically or spiritually

[We] Partake of your bread and wine

They be elements rich and fine

Of your body given for me

And your blood outpoured too I see

Saved by your grace, not our own

Doing, you atone, you alone

Putting faith in Christ your Son

Son of God, saving work has done

Living, died on cross ,rose again

Saviour to all, unto all men (mankind)

I shall trust and here partake

Of this feast you for us here make

Not cast off nor turned away

You do invite all, you the Way

And the Truth and Life you 'er be

Now and through all eternity

Wondrous hope, help us to share

Evangelise your gospel fair

So that all salvation know

And more in your image, Christ, grow

Your love shown here, help us love you

More, strengthen us for service too

Good write but no longer applicable to me. I still go to church to sing in the choir and meet with friends but I do get the odd look when I no longer go up for communion.

Thanks Gold. You could go up for a 'blessing' yes? Not actually receive the bread and wine. You're in the church 'atmosphere' for want of a better word. I miss it if they only have it about once a month. Some places have it EVERY week, with it as the main focus of the Service.
At one place EVERYONE (or as many as wished) gathered round the table/altar, all at once. But it was bit like a cattle market, though respectful.
