Tune: Coelites Plaudant
('Christ the fair glory of the holy angels')
*********
Lord, if our journey be along river banks
Here contemplate a while, and my give you thanks
For your glories of creation thus displayed
In your beauties arrayed
Locating now a bridge, but gain no entry
For 'tis all boarded up, we may not go, see
On that turning, forbidden that way it be
Not public pathway free
It be a mystical bridge, o'erladen
With tree branches grown, they the bridge o'ershaden
For to set foot there is trespass, penalty
Prosecution shall be
So friends, adhere to Christ, the Life, Truth, and Way
His Way ever leading to eternal day
He the bridge 'tween God and man, the gap has filled
E'en as His Father willed
It shall be life and health, kept from harm, danger
You shall not be lost sheep, nor careless ranger
For Christ, good Shepherd, He leads His people sure
In good paths evermore

Thanks A&B. Uncle Steve here! Erm, yes, one of the 'ancient' hymns from 'Ancient & Modern'. I meth the author in person of course! I thought you would have been around too? heehee.
There are many bridges that we have crossed in our lives and there will be many more taking us into our new life.
Thanks Gold. I suppose we can only cross those bridges when we get to them. I don't cross some literal bridges. If too high, I fear I shall fall in the river below.!
