My skin color

Disrespectfully nice

Why must I be a target?

Treating me like a criminal because of my skin color

That's funny because I thought I was human just like any other

What have I done wrong for me to put fear in your heart?

I'm a law abiding citizen too but we can't be told apart

"GET ON THE GROUND"

"HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK"

The words of choice that I get first

"You match the description of someone we're looking for"

Damn really how does that work?

I just want to be looked at the same as everyone else

Is that too much to ask to leave the house with no fear of death?

I'm just a man trying to live, provide for my family, keep them safe

Could the next traffic stop be the last breath that I take?

It is so sad that here in our so called civilised world that many are treated in this way just because of their skin colour. My philosophy is to treat everyone with respect no matter what.
I do hope that one day respect will be there from and to all.

Absolutely at the end of the day we are all human so there is no reason to treat anyone differently based on race if anything I want to learn about everyone's culture not discriminate against it

Yes learning about everyone's culture is a must for the understanding of our world.
