Reflections

sylviasearcher

There was this perfect moment
In a faraway land
When I saw my reflection
Glowing from the kindest eyes
And I saw what you saw
And that’s who I wanted to be

Amazing, worthy, beautiful, complex
Every wretched piece
You soothed for the sum of my value
Nothing

I wake amidst my nightmares
In this faraway land
And I can barely see my face
Fading in those tired eyes
I saw what you saw
And that wasn’t who I wanted to be

Restless, edgy, confusing, a mess
Every wretched piece
You were left bereft at the sum of my value
Nothing

I wish I could take that perfect moment in time
And seal it up in a faraway land
So I could never forget that precious day
When you bewitched me with the warmth of your eyes
And taught me to believe
I could be who I wanted to be

There is no way this is not a good poem, it brings your feelings to the page and into the heart and mind of the reader.
I am sure that precious land is there for you and you will never forget it. You will be who you want to be sylvia, and with words like these it is very close.

    Andy.
