A WESOME sight ~ Maori name WHAKAARI ~ Warned about
GOING near the CRATER ~ but TOURISTS are always .......
I NTREPID & EXCITED to see inside the ........
C RATER ! WE visited but not in the CRATER !
V OLCANOES are very fascinating ~ because
O F their History and very volatile nature !
L OVE to visit DORMANT VOLCANOES ~ VESUVIUS !
C ARE must always be taken on a visit to .......
A VOLCANO ~ because they*re unpredictable !
N ORMALLY visits require VISITORS to sign
*OWN RISK FORMS* VOLCANOES are always DANGEROUS !

NEW ZEALAND is a very beautiful and exciting Country everyone wants to visit. In 2019 She has had more that Her share of Tragedies. She is attractive to Young Backpackers because of the availability if Extreme Sports such as Bungee Jumping and Canyoning. Sailing has qualified Instructors and visits to *White Island* always include experienced & Qualified Guides one of whom died in the recent tragedy. Over 45 Tourists and Guides were near the CRATER when it erupted FIVE are known to have DIED ~ EIGHT are still missing and 32 were rescued many with severe burns. They included New Zealanders and Tourists from five different Countries. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with the Deceased - Missing - Injured and their Families ~ AMEN. There has been concern for years about the Danger of *White Island* but like Mount Everest & The Grand Canyon etc ~ these are places we all want to visit ~ despite the many Tragedies. Please pray for NEW ZEALAND and all those affected by this tragic event.

Thanks for your comment UNCLE STEVE ! We visited last Year and found it a very SOMBRE PLACE ~ so I thought we should comment ! It is great TRAGEDY for a very Beautiful & Welcoming Country. I guess it will be closed for the forseeable future. A Video does not do it justice. It is the sight - sound - scent & savour that makes visit to an active VOLCANO so inforgettable !
