Bah humbug!

Middlearth

Christmases aren’t like the Christmases I’ve had before

The family I’ve shared Christmases with are not here anymore

The house I grew up in belongs to someone else

The family I lived there with are now just pictures on the shelf

I have my own family, my own children,my own house

But we go away at Christmas and have Christmas somewhere else

The ones I miss all died near Christmas - I sat with them as they went

So now I hope their Christmases will all be  heaven sent

I love my children so I do Christmas for them as best I can

But for now I can safely say - I’m not a Christmas fan.

Very good emotive write, Christmases can be sad times as well but the memories of the good times in the past will never leave you.
