Tune: Bristol
('Hark, the glad sound')
*******
Help us, Lord, our ears to attune
For your return be soon
Once came as babe, a manger small
Shall return Lord of all
Where unprepared, give grace in need
That we still on you feed
By faith on you in your hearts, so
Your presence we shall know
Light of the world, dispel our dark
That we to angels hark
As at the time of your birth they
Proclaimed the gospel's day
Glad tidings, peace on earth to all
May we on your name call
You full human and full divine
Born true of David's line
