Villains and Victims

SheWasTheSun

Today, he is a villain

A heartless monster

Who was incapable of love all along

Yesterday, he was a victim

A wounded angel

With unthinkable and undeserved struggle

On Thursday, he was a narcissist

A manipulative devil

Driven my self-interest alone

Last week, he was my star-crossed lover

And this time apart

Was just a chapter in our story

This morning, he was a lesson

A fading pain in my chest

Pointing me on a path toward discovery and peace

Villains and victims

Narcissists and soulmates

Lessons and lovers

They all bleed together

And the longer they do

The more I see

His story doesn't matter

What matters, is me
