He came into the world one hundred years ago,
This scrawny little kid from New Jersey.
He changed the world,
And Flew to the Moon
With me hanging onto his coat tails.
The Songs for Swingin’ lovers,
The album that has been with me all my life,
An anthem for the world to follow.
This insignificant man grew into an immortal,
One that will always be remembered.
His soft velvet tones flowing through the ether,
A legacy of his love of music,
That comes through his voice,
And stir so many emotions within us.
He sang to us for years,
He retired and then came back.
He retired many times,
And his comebacks were legion,
But he could not comeback from his final breath
Except in my mind,
Where I can still hear his voice
Transporting me to his presence,
And knowing that throughout his life,
He always did it, his way.

A fine write Gold. Shall we croon?!
Yes let's croon away.
"Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On a-Jupiter and Mars"

Yet I cringe a bit when the 'My Way' song is sung, e.g. at funerals. Seems selfish. Let's fly to the moon instead - I could sing there. In space no one can hear you scream, erm, sing?! You would come back without me. Does the No.7 bus go to Jupiter and Mars, and the moon?
Only if you sit up the stairs, it splits as it passes the moon with the lower deck going back to Earth the top deck goes looking for black holes.
Aww, a guy tricked me. He told me it was the No.11 bus. I got on it and ended up at Pluto.
Good going Andy. I see Frank has made a comeback today.
Ex animo, 'ol black eyes
Thanks Alan, mine are a bit red today but it was a superb bottle of wine (not all of it) I had with my dinner last night.
Andy, ol' red eyes.
THANKS FOR SHARING UNCLE ANDY ~ Frank & Dino ~ a bit before our time but we love the recorwdings of *The Rat Pack* wih Sammy Davis Jnr ! Yes Frank is a legend ~ Good Singer & Actor ! Tommy Dorsey told him to listen to Crosby and milk every word ~ and he did ! We always thought DINO was the better singer & his Italian was impeccable. In the early days Frank was very reliant on his Mum and her limnks with the Maffia always ensured he got a GIG. very interesting Life Story !
Blesings & Peace to YOU & YOUR Beloved JOYCE
