Wandering down the streets of an unknown town
He still finds himself on the same grounds
Reality did not alter, nothing was undone
Love was lost, And so were the close ones
As he walks through the crowd of unfamiliar faces
Far in the alleyway between the unknown places
He finds a face he tried to forget
He looks for a while and then he regrets
The old wound in his heart was open again
The ghosts of his past were unchained
Tears filled his eyes as if they were untamed
As they roll down his face he muttered in pain.
" Fate has played me again"
All those letter and memories he could not set to flames
Were burried in his home town where memories were made
For years he did not call out her name
All these thoughts rushing back in his mind
How those letters once said " forever mine"
Now he stands here in the crowd of strangers
Thinking back to the time where they promised there love
 In return for this world.

 - Comment from author about the poem: This poem follows a story telling pattern about what happened when I saw my ex girlfriend after 3 years. So after the break up I moved to another city and moved on with my life, well did not really move on, I was madly I love with this women but the circumstance made us apart and we had to let go, as it was not working for both of us. Anyways enjoy the poem, maybe some of you can relate. \\\\r\\\\n

I had a similar experience divided by thirty years.
Yes you capture the gut wrenching, heart racing moment with your well written piece today.
Thanks a lot 🙏.. Yes it is truly painful
The awful heart-tugging moment can happen to either gender and wrench out tears as your apt words here show - - have been there myself so I know the feeling. A touching read Nemo.
True indeed and Thank you 🌹
'Fate' has this ability to bring back painful memories, may you move on once more into a pain free life.
Thanks you 😊
