IF.
If lovers co-mingle whom Heaven has breached,
if echoes of ardour pierce final silence,
when I wait in this void where stars collided
his dear voice will I hear.
If feelings now formless mold shape from ether,
if other-world ghosts can inhabit substance,
when I kneel to plead for more solid assurance
his soft touch will I feel.
If spirits escape from grave's non-breathing air,
if souls need past bliss and gone-times revisit
when I lie in dreams of long honeyed kisses
he will come to me there.

A fine write Fay.
Many thanks Orchi for your visit to read my few lines on "IF "
'If' I stopped singing - probably for ever - would it make the world a better place?! heehee.
Another excellent composition Fay. This is how it should be done.
Hopefully you will allow me to re-route it into my Fayves so that it is easy to recall when all is quiet with me and it's time for nice things.
Ex animo, Alan
My honour and pleasure dear Alan is to find this romantic verse among your faves. ( Ha - and I love the word you use of Fayves) - - thanking you muchly.
This is quite beautiful Fay. You have found words to describe the intangible lingering romance within the heart which lives on.
You show your mastery here.
Grateful thanks for your comment D.A. and am glad you picked up the essence of longing which lives on after the passing of one dearly loved.
You've broken my heart with this beauty and haven't wasted a single syllable. I'm always amazed at the way you wring the language for everything it's worth.
Hi Heather and a very big thank you for this generous comment on "IF " - - feelings are so overwhelming with loss of a much loved partner and that I tried to portray in the poem.
Beautiful write Fay, may he come to you in dreams and reality.
Yes dreams are a good way to cope with such loss dear Andy - - many thanks for your kind comment after reading my few words on "IF"
