Can't be undone

Nemo

I felt it fading away
I felt it slipping from my hands
Like the sand in my grip,
I felt it falling grain by grain

The love we had was now diminished
What we started, we could not finish
We sat and we cried, we knew it was done
That after this, there was no return.

Yes - and I was trying to collect spilt milk in a sieve. I didn't get far. Doh!

Words which will ring a bell to so many and written with honest confession of love's fragility - - a sad reminder in your comparison with sand that time never waits long for hurt's healing.
