Tune: Regent Square
('Lord of beauty, thine the splendour')
Psalm 118 v.14-29 parts
********
The LORD is my strength and my song
My salvation all life long
Voice of rejoicing, salvation
Is heard in dwellings, each one
Of the righteous, the LORD's hand they
Trust to work valiantly
Open me gates of righteousness
I will enter, the LORD bless
Will praise him, for He has heard me
And my salvation sure be
So with praises and rejoicing
We worship you, LORD and King
He the stone which builders refused
Rejected, cast out as used
But is become chief corner stone
Foundation of Christ alone
Upon Him the building founded
He the LORD, our living Head
This be the LORD's doing, wondrous
Marvellous it is to us
We behold it with our eyes clear
So His plans they do appear
This the day which the LORD has made
We worship confident, staid
We will rejoice, in it be glad
needing not stay downcast, sad
We pray, Save, LORD, and us prosper
And unto our help do stir
O give thanks to the LORD, for He
Is good, e'er merciful be
