Challenge.

Fay Slimm.

Challenge.

The mind has its mountains,
cliffs of fall,
 cautiously self-made traits
not easily climbed save by hearts
who fight fear and allow endurance
to augur change.

Life has its forbidding plains,
lion-limbed
heights of challenge that gained
by experience defines a belief
in those who bide with assurance
of heaven's aid.

Time has grinding anvils,
ego's test
loaded with iron will,
me-istically patterned to battle
all souls but who wins faces blows
with no wincing.

You're a legend, Fay Slimm. A large part of MPS is the persistent magic that you fill it for all of us every day revealing your most inner and deepest dreams and hopes in life. Thank you, also, for our little chat and remarking about my work.

            "me-istically"??

            • Fay Slimm.

Just a poetic play on words Barry - - the "me" age in my way of describing what we all have to battle with at times. Hope this answers your question and thank you for dropping by my page.

Let us not judge him/her by the goals he/she achieved but rather by the obstacles deftly negotiated and succeeded.

              • Fay Slimm.

This comment is a poem itself D.A. and adds wisdom to advice when we meet with a Challenge. Thanking you ever so kindly for your welcome comment my friend.

You have it nailed and rephrased in a nutshell my dear friend......... life is certainly full of surprises and we who live on this challenging planet have to define ways through.

Good, good write Fay. Reminds me of a Neil Innes song from 1968:-
                  The Urban Spaceman.

                  'I don't feel sorrow
                  I don't feel pain:
If you were to knock me down
                  I'd just stand up again.

                  Ex animo, Alan

                  • Fay Slimm.

Yes - that is exactly what we must do - keep standing up and brushing ourself down to start all over again........... thanking you muchly for your contributive and welcome comment dear Alan.
