Yesterday's Kiss Along The Byway

Gino

Searching that highway
en route to you,
...With visions leading
in between you
and a beautiful route to view,

Breathlessly admiring
that foolish byway
along a long starry road,
...on a stairway to heaven,...

Lost in a fantasy
filled with grandeur,
...Yearning on that desire
along that lie and selfish dream,

Reaching for that moment
in craziness
from a fantasy that blinded me,
...Disengaging hope
that always sought to rescue me,...

...Traveling alone
in day after longing day
in fleeting hope and cigarettes,
...Anxiously coping
disappointment en lover's end

My view came alive
as you came along
in a dream,
Bound in a strange theme
resuscitating yesterday's kiss,

...Then found that light in you
for it found me in the mess
that I could never walk away from,

Yet despite this,
your wish
rolled away the stone
from all those years
seaming in lost regret
