Glass Shards

Clark

Glass shards resting on my heart

You would think I would be dead by now

Just the thought of your sweet smile

Gives me oxygen

But there is still glass on my heart

And I’m just ignoring it

Waiting for your approval

Waiting for you to tell me that

I am and have always been your one

The reality is glass shards

Never really rest on your heart

They only

Kill you slowly

- my heart for false promises

Hopefully in this new year those shards will become blunt and the love between you blossoms in the new spring that awaits us all.
