New Meaning to My Life.

Goldfinch60

The start of the morning was busy,

Needed to do this and that.

All completed.

So I could go,

In my car I went,

Gear all packed.

I drove to the main road

And sailed along easily.

Then this feeling came over me,

A feeling of absolute calmness.

I was free of sad thoughts,

All was well in my world

In spite of the recent sadness.

That calmness was so wonderful,

It meant so much to me,

I was going to do something,

Something that I enjoy,

Thoroughly enjoy.

It has brought a new meaning,

New meaning to my life,

And that joy abounds around me

As I walk onto the croquet lawn.

My friend you deserve this more than I could ever write, over the years you shared the outstanding passion to take for your wife.

I'm grateful to your strength and energy to move on, I hope one day I'll sit back and know the feelings of your words!

    Always appreciated
    No matter the weather!

    • Goldfinch60

Thank you so much for your kind words Dan, they are very much appreciated.

Sometimes I feel the same, if not going to some churches where there are 'entanglements' of rules and regulations, etc. (Well, don't go to those sort of churches then, Orchi!).
Meanwhile - folk feel absolute panic. but why. Cos I say 'I'm gonna sing!' heehee.

      • Goldfinch60

You said it - don't go to those churches.

It reads to me as if the stress of the recent years is finally lifted and this together with your assured knowledge that you are genuinely at ease with your commitment to honour the past has brought you peace.
I am envious. Now go swing that mallet.

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you d a, yes peace has descended on my being and I am reclaiming MY life. That mallet will be swung again this afternoon.

BRIAN HERE ~ Good afternoon UNCLE ANDY ~ just finished teaching and Im in a weekend mood ! Thanks for the VIDEO ~ any song from LES MISS is a hit with us ! Awesome BOOK ~ FILM and best as a STAGE MUSICAL where one can really feel the passion GREAT SONGS !
What is it about CROQUET ? I can easily see how it is both cathartic & addictive ! We always play once a month on a Saturday (when its fine !) after the Mens Breakfast (another form of COMMUNION !). It seems to me that it is one of those games like Chess ~ Solo Whist ~ Dominoes & Carpet Bowls etc which are AGE NEUTRAL and the Nonagenarians can play as good (if not better ?) that the Twentysomethings and Ladies can compete equally with Men ~ AMEN. Such games are very very addictive. We are so so pleased you are begining to find some Peace & Contentment in your life ~ AMEN !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours

Sunshine always shines brightest after the rain

                • Goldfinch60

It surely does and the sun is now shining on me even through the rain.
