Thoughts & Dreams

markziff

With the day just horizons silver sliver,
thoughts of you running through my head,
The missing feel of your arms about me
Sleep evades, awake in an empty bed.

Should sleep bring her beautiful and kind,
My dreams afore her, a face unformed,
When I awake to realise, fearful that I find,
Her gone like zephyr's gentle breath.

Whether sleeping with dreams so vivid,
Awake lying alone with my thoughts my fears,
When I arise through alarms early call,
I glance back my pillow, damp from tears.

You can really feel the emptiness by the last stanza. Good job evoking such emotion.
