Loneliness; the sweetest siren

braydon Tyler

Loneliness coddles it’s arms around me since you’ve been gone.

It whispers sweet nothings to me.

Lies so serene and comforting I too believe that this bed. This mattress. This dark potent room that smells of must is my home. My safe place.

Loneliness sings me to sleep with a voice that’s angelic. Loneliness wipes my tears and tells me I am powerful. But not powerful enough to conquer her.

Loneliness ties me up and right when I’m feeling powerful, kicks the box out from under my feet.

Now I can’t breathe. Now I try to fight for my life and just when I’m about to give up and hang there willingly.

She cuts me down. Wraps me up. Wipes my tears. And tells me everything is going to be okay.

So I guess its like you never really left anyway.
