A Hundred Years Ago.

Goldfinch60

We spoke of olden days,

Those days a hundred years ago.

Those times we worked together,

And I drove her to work.

The memories recalled

Of people we knew,

Of times we laughed,

Of times we cried.

The friendship we have

Has never stopped,

Even though we now live far away,

Far away from each other.

But on this day

We met once more,

And we talked,

Talked of wondrous times.

We talked of my loved one,

Of my loved one passing,

The tears shone in her eyes,

As they did in mine,

But all was well

As we spoke of olden days,

Those days a hundred years ago.

So - you was both there in person a hundred years ago? Was she around in 1066 too?! I'm in contact with an old primary school penfriend still, from about 50 years ago now - or should it be 50 million years?

    • Goldfinch60

She is probably my oldest friend but did not like it back in the stone age when I dragged her around by her hair!!

A good piece Andy but a hundred years is just a drop in the ocean ~ I've known people for a whole lifetime.

I'm glad you have that friend. True friendship is one of the most irreplaceable things in existence I believe.

Touching - but a bit overly sentimental!

              • Goldfinch60

                I'll accept touching.

                Andy
