Midnight

SerenWise

The air of night time, silent sweet,

The waxing moon still incomplete,

The vixen's cry echoes thro' the dell,

A sudden sound to break the spell.

Moonlight drenches a cloudless sky,

Through which the ghost of barn owls fly,

Silent hunters prowl the meadows,

Prey waits out in long drawn shadows.

The darker fae may be out tonight,

So watch your step, be quick of flight,

Breathe in the night air, moonlight kissed;

But never tarry, or you may be missed.

    What a solid piece of work. This plays out like a little movie scene in the brain. Gonna read it a couple more times.

    You capture with well written rhyme the sense of a scary night scene so well here Seren - good to have you back posting again my friend.
