A yawn, a stretch, a wake-up
A blink of drowsy eyes.
A sniff, a scratch, a shake-up
It's almost time to rise.
A look around the break of day
Is it rain or shine?
It doesn't matter anyway
When you're a shrewd canine.
Off they set at early morn'
Adventuring about
Here and there a day is born
(Snoop! I hear you shout)
Snoop do this and Snoop do that
(Sit! Snoop you explain)
And then it's up from where he's sat
And off they go again.
Round about the fields and ways
Weaving to and fro
Snoop the canine runs and plays
And puts on quite a show.
As Heidi walks a piece behind
And lets him bound ahead
Snoop the canine soon will find
He's ready for his bed.
So, he and she are home at last
And Heidi takes a seat
Snoop the canine, fading fast,
Is lying at her feet.
A yawn a stretch a scratch of ear
Collapsing in a heap ~
Now the hour is drawing near
For Snoop to go to sleep.

Where do they get all that zest from? I reckon a dogs life cant be all that bad when they have a good best friend to look after them.
Amusing and pleasing to read.
A little fun for the weekend DA. Thanks for visiting and commenting. Snoop is real and he's so much fun I had to immortalise him in words.
Yes, they don't mind. Off the leash, bounding around the park, or wherever, having fun.
'Fetch, Fido' I say to my 'watchdog'! He checks out any naughty poems not marked 18+. One said I was nutty, but that one had no sense of humour.lol
Someone once told me that I had a well behaved dog, Steve, "He does everything you tell him".
Wrong! he did everything I asked him.

At a coffee house I go to several times a week there is a golden retriever in there that leads its owners into the coffee shop, sometime BEFORE his walk.
I wonder if that coffee joint sells something else beside coffee Andy. Maybe bacon sandwiches or cream buns, sausage rolls or muffins.............................................................

A light and engaging tribute to a real canine who is obviously happy to be given free reign over his favourite human - - dogs are a wonder of first rate energy in themselves and thanks for this kind
reminder dear Alan.
Hello and thank you Fay. As well as horses we love dogs too here in Yorkshire, myself being a golden retriever man. Between 2002 and 2016 I had the most beautiful retriever on the planet ~ Sam.
He's gone now but not gone if you know what I mean.

Wow Alan - I cant believe you’ve taken the time to write this about us. It’s brilliant! You’re very talented. Gave me a good chuckle! Snoop - such a mad Doggy! I’ve shared it. Thank you - awesome! X
Hey Heidi.
Thanks for coming in. I love dogs and Snoop makes me laugh each morning (as you know).
He deserves to be made famous as he is a unique little man isn't he?
Give him a couple of extra biscuits today please, I will see him soon.
Kind regards, Alan
