Saved And Secure

Tune: Christchurch

('Now is eternal life')

Psalm 40 v.1-5

**********

I waited patiently

For the LORD, he heard me

And brought me up from pit

It was horrid, each wit

As in soft clay my feet did sink

But you, LORD, did on me bethink

For you did bring me out

Of the pit, you no doubt

Set my feet on a rock

You tend your sheep, your flock

You did establish my steps sure

I shall trust you for evermore

You have put a new song

In my mouth, all day long

I shall it sing, give praise

To you, our God, thanks raise

Many shall fear and stand in awe

For you my need did not ignore

Blessed they who the LORD make

Their trust, for His name's sake

He will act, help needy

But proud and liars be

Not tended by Him, but humble

He shall hear when they on Him call

Many, LORD God, are there

Your wonders which we share

Many your thoughts they be

Unto us, good and free

We cannot count them all for they

More than can be numbered, we say

Im always getting stuck in the *Mirey Clay * when I get stuck sailing in the shallows and have to get out and Push her into deeper water ! To keep me calm I sing a NEW SONG - AMEN If I have a set of OARS - I punt or row myself out - OK ! If you*ve never been sailing you will just have to visulise the trauma of being stuck - prow first - into MUD - GLORIOUS MUD !
