Tell me

Aa Harvey

Tell me

Tell me about love.

Tell me about life.

Tell me about giving up,

Or tell me how you survived.

Tell me what you wish,

Or tell me absolutely nothing.

Tell me what you are willing to share.

I make no promise to tell you anything.

Tell me what you like

And all the things you dislike or otherwise.

Tell me about the light,

Or if the darkness has covered your mind,

Then tell me or anybody,

How you truly feel inside.

Tell me something if you want,

I will offer no doubt.

I tell you all you need to know,

But I am not your fount.

Bubbles appear and then they pop!

Into waterfalls land every drop.

This reads almost inviting but slightly dangerous. Do I want to tell you anything... I do and I don't. Very intriguing. Then the ending there, about not being a fount. Bubbles and waterfalls. Almost seems as if the whole conversation would be almost pointless. Curious little poem indeed, great work.

Thank you. Surely as a poet it is impossible to not tell anybody anything.

Your well written poem reminds me that we should be much more open with our inner thoughts. How do you know somebody if they don't talk?
      I like it!
