Winged Hearts.

Fay Slimm.

Winged Hearts.

Allowing insides to open

Hearts become winged,

Word-wise, guilt free,

Fearless yet hopeful

While efficiently

Unassailable

        • Fay Slimm.

Glad you got the meaning of my few lines Nev -- winged hearts fly high on this special day when some think tis a good thing to celebrate Love.

If only an open heart were "unassailable" never to be broken. Somehow I assume that a "winged heart" can fly and bond with another. Sounds like a perfect description of Love. - Phil A.

              A nice offering today, Fay.
A Byron quotation finds itself with me as I read you.

'Friendship is love without his wings'
              ~ G.G. Byron

Catherine Cookson was inspired by this in writing her novel 'The Wingless Bird'.

              Ex animo, Alan

              • Fay Slimm.

Thank you Alan for the interesting comment and yes Catherine Cookson did a good job with that novel as I remember - a quote from Byron shows that all we poets read must lodge in our core and emerge at times in lines or ideas............. so pleased you enjoyed the read of Winged Hearts.
