Amazed by Music Again.

Goldfinch60

Why does it happen?

I sit happily writing

Or reading poems

When a sound comes,

Comes from the radio,

A sound that stops me

And pulls me,

Pulls me into its glory.

Once more it has happened.

I heard,

I stopped,

I listened,

I felt.

I was in awe

As that voice sailed,

Sailed through my soul

Into my heart.

Such a wonderful voice,

Once again I am amazed,

Amazed by music.

A fine write Gold. Will it still be OK if I was to sing on radio?!

      • Goldfinch60

You can sing on radio as long as it is on shortwave!

I had never heart Cleo sing this number either and wow she brings it over so well - thanks Andy for sharing it with us - amazement and wonder keeps the mind and heart young.

To be honest i never was a fan of Cleo's. Her other half tho, Mr Dankworth, he was a player.

Some good friends of mine went to see Cleo and Johnny at The Stables - their music venue. Johnny did not appear and at the end of the concert in which she sang nearly all the time she told the audience that Johnny had died that morning - the show must go on.
I have always been amazed at Cleo's singing but nobody beats Ella.

I'm with you on this Andy... an unmistakable voice if ever there was but never heard this number before either....
